About Adam Looney

Adam was born in Mobile, Al in 1990 and graduated from  Baker HS (Mobile) in 2008. 

In 2015 he married the love of his life, Jordan Bettner at the Notre-Dame de Paris cathedral in Paris, France. 

In 2016 he was named Head Coach of the boys soccer program at Satsuma HS. 

In 2018 at 28 years old he was diagnosed with neuroendocrine cancer in his liver and spine. He began treatments immediately but continued to coach. 

In 2019 he joined the boys soccer program at Daphne HS as head coach while continuing to receive chemotherapy treatments. 

In 2021 he lead them to the Alabama State semi-finals and also served as assistant coach for Springhill College men’s soccer. 

By the end of 2021 Adam’s health forced him to step away from the sport he was so passionate about and focus on getting healthy again. 

January 2022 was the highlight of Adam and Jordan’s life as they were blessed with the miracle of giving birth to their amazing son Evan. 

But in September of that same year, after receiving several radiation treatments, Adam’s health declined rapidly. He was hospitalized on October 5th and passed away 8 days later on October 13, 2022 at the age of 32.
